S.Tsuji (Tsuji Shiro Guitar Studio) Style 5K Soprano Ukulele

Mr. Shiro Tsuji has a workshop in Nanto City (formerly Taira Village) in Gokayama, which is located in the southwestern part of Toyama Prefecture.
Mr. Shiro Tsuji has spent more than 58 years since he started his musical instrument making career at the Tea Instrument Stringed Instrument Studio in 1961, and has been devoted to making musical instruments centered on the guitar, and is respected as a living legend in the industry. .. In particular, the famous Chaki P-1, P-2, and P-3 in the late 1960s were made by Mr. Tsuji and are still highly regarded in the vintage market.
In 1988, he met Akira Tsumura, a world-renowned stringed instrument collector in the Tsumura collection, who was in charge of repairing a huge number of rare vintage instruments. That became the basis for becoming familiar with the internal structures of Martin, Gibson, Dakist, Angelico, etc., and made Tsuji's career even more solid.
This instrument is a reproduction of Martin 5K, the legendary ukulele instrument, by the current Mr. Tsuji. Like Martin's ukulele, it has a solid structure, and it does not produce an easy-to-understand sound from a new state, but it is a deep instrument that brings out the taste by playing it. The binding is finished with maple and has a luxurious feel. Instead of the trendy fluorocarbon strings, we use old-fashioned nylon strings. The Hawaiian core wood grain is stunning.
See the video for the current sound. Of course, I think that the original sound will come out more and more as you use it.

S.Tsuji Guitars DA-17

Mr. Shiro Tsuji has a workshop in Nanto City (formerly Taira Village) in Gokayama, which is located in the southwestern part of Toyama Prefecture.
For more than 58 years since he started his career in making musical instruments at the Tea Instrument Stringed Instrument Studio in 1961, he has spent more than 58 years focusing on making musical instruments centered on guitars, and is respected as a living legend in the industry.

After becoming independent in 1973, he was active as a leading figure in Lucia, a single-plate machined archtop guitar in Japan. He was in charge of repairing the "Tsumura Collection", one of the world's collections of vintage guitars, and repaired Gibson, Martin, etc. left by US soldiers stationed in Japan. He is also a Lucia who knows the real thing. Since 2015, I have been working with his son Takachika.

The DA-17 that arrived this time is a 17-inch size guitar with the motif of Jimmy D'Aquist's New Yorker model, a legend of archtop guitar. Floating type pickup Guild Dearmond RHYTHM CHIEF 1100 is mounted, and the control roll is 1Vol 1Tone on the pickguard. The jack is on the back of the pickguard, but if you would like to have the jack processed on the body, Tsuji Kobo will support it free of charge.

It is a handcraft guitar show model, and it is a model that many professionals have praised.
Please refer to the video for the sound.

S.Tsuji P-1 Model Natural

This time, the top and back are different from those at that time, with the motif of P-1 from the legendary Chaki work era, and it is finished by carving a single plate so that Mr. Tsuji's current technology can be fully demonstrated. The paint is a lacquer finish. This is the first natural finish, taking advantage of the beauty of the wood grain of the material.

As a jazz guitar, of course, it can be used like a flat top guitar because it has abundant blues, slide play, and sound, and it is a guitar full of possibilities that can be used by the player.

In particular, the Chaki P-1 in the late 1960s, which is considered to be a famous instrument, was made by Mr. Tsuji and is still highly evaluated in the vintage market.
In particular, we are absolutely confident in the technique of making archtop guitars, which was inspired by the production of contrabass, and we continue to produce high-quality musical instruments with almost no deformation of the top over the years. The secret is the structure called "bass structure" that has been created through many years of ingenuity and ingenuity, and the strength is secured by carving a thicker material than a general guitar.
